The iHV supports local areas and services on their own improvement journey through our quality improvement services and sector-led improvement partnerships. We apply our breadth of expertise in health visiting and applied methods, including Experience-Based Codesign, to work collaboratively with local areas to gain a deeper understanding of the lived experience of people accessing, delivering and leading services - supporting areas to develop place-based solutions to practice priorities or quality improvement goals. Each project is bespoke and tailored to the needs of the local area - from scoping a whole 0-19 service to helping local areas to tackle specific issues and strengthen services.
Our approach is tailored to the needs of the local area, with methods including: surveys and interviews with staff, stakeholders and families; facilitated discovery workshops with parents/ carers/ stakeholders and 0-19 staff; fieldwork in local settings to gather the experiences of service users; data analysis and evidence-synthesis, with desk-top reviews of national and local reporting metrics; mapping of service specifications against best practice; insight reports with codesign of recommendations; and we can also support with staff / stakeholder engagement and mobilisation. Each project is delivered in collaboration with Service Leads and Commissioners and supports a deeper understanding of 'what’s going well and areas to consider in future service development and quality improvement'.
"The support from iHV has significantly strengthened the relationship between us as commissioners and providers in our borough. It created the space for open, honest conversations and gave us a shared foundation for workforce improvement.”Public Health Commissioner – feedback on iHV sector-led improvement project
