Fellows of the Institute of Health Visiting (FiHV)

iHV Fellows are health visitors recognised for their exceptional leadership qualities and achievements. The title is awarded by the iHV to health visitors who have held a leadership role for a minimum of three years who demonstrate excellence in health visiting – with evidence of the significant and ongoing contribution that they have personally made to the advancement of excellence in health visiting. Fellows are drawn from across the breadth of health visiting practice, education, research and policy.

iHV Fellows are committed to ongoing learning; and have completed the bespoke 12-month iHV Fellows’ Leadership Programme which offers health visitors a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills. Once the award is conferred, iHV Fellows join a vibrant Fellows’ community of changemakers and aspirational health visiting leaders across the UK.

Following a pause in iHV Fellowships due to a lack of dedicated resources, we were delighted to relaunch the programme in 2025 to mark the 10th anniversary since the first iHV Fellowships were conferred. “The Dame Elizabeth Fradd Leadership Programme: iHV Fellows” has been made possible with thanks to generous funding from the Dame Elizabeth Fradd Memorial Fund, overseen by the Worshipful Company of Needlemakers, the KPMG Foundation’s 25@25 special grants initiative, The Burdett Trust for Nursing, and the Institute of Health Visiting.
